My Collection | Nars

Ahhh Nars. A good solid favourite of mine. A one to rely on.
Nars is a brand that I've always dipped in and out of over the last few years. I remember when I first my very first sheer glow, I wanted it for ages but there was no where local for me that sold it, then I clocked the stand in Selfridges during a London trip and the rest is history.

Sheer Glow Foundation
Shade - Santa Fe/Medium 2

A cult product for all makeup lovers, or hoarders. First of all the colour match is great for me, it is just slightly darker than my natural. Just enough it give my face a brighten and look more awake. The foundation gives you skin a nice healthy awake glow, the reason why I love it! Its very easy to apply and blend, and very build-able. It goes onto skin evenly and with some setting powder gives a nice finish for the day. With it being sheer it doesn't appear as long lasting as other foundations may, if its not for you add concealer in areas you'd like a little more security.

Velvet Matte Foundation
Shade- Groenland Light 3

To be totally honest matte foundations are really my cuppa tea.  For months I wore this foundation religiously. Its so easy to use on early mornings, applying and blending is slick. I always highlighed in areas just so my face didn't look so 2D. Its a long lasting smooth finish with build-able coverage.

Radiant Creamy Concealer
Shade - Vanilla

A bit of radiance, that's what I need. I ain't about that matte lifestyle. I use this concealer near enough every day. Its always my go to. I apply this under eyes to brighten, my forehead to build coverage and my nose and cupids bow to highlight. It is a multi purpose, all rounder product. I ran out of eye primer and used this until I bought a new one, worked just as good! Always easy to use, I would always suggest getting concealer thats a shade lighter then your skin tone to highlight and brighten.

Illuminator
Shade - Orgasm

This is a fairly new one for me. I was really confused when I first purchased it, is is a blusher or a highlighter or what??? I use this on the apple of my cheeks and blend it back, kind of like blush. The colour when its blended isn't as strong as blush. I like this to give me a glow with a flush of healthy colour. Its great to give your face a bit of a refresh during to the day. Although it is a liquid it does dry nicely and stays in place throughout the day. I use this before and after my foundation and setting, its pretty multi purpose. Still, I'm not sure whether its highlight or blush?? I very much like it though!

 Light Reflecting Setting Powder
Shade - Translucent

A good setting powder much a huge difference to your make up. This setting powder has staying power, not even creamy formula foundation will move out of place. Translucant powders are always handy to have too, they can be used for more things than you imagine, like blending out a smokey eye for example. The light reflecting is nothing over powering and doesn't go all Edward Cullan on you, its just subtle. Beware though, too much will have the opposite effect and make you look 2D and washed out!

My Collection | Charlotte Tilbury

I am most certainly one of those people who finds a product they like and them sticks with the brand. Charlotte Tilbury being one of these brands. It was around this time last year that I purchased my first Charlotte Tilbs, from then I've loved the brand in general.

The brand has a high end glam feel, from product finishes to the product packaging. All round high quality. Although this is a pricey brand you get what you pay for!

So this is my little Charlotte Tilbury collection, small but costly and effective! All of the Charlotte Tilbury products have gorgeous packaging, have I mentioned that already??

Magic Foundation
Shade 2 Fair Pale

This was the first product that I tried at the time it was a product that everyone had in their makeup bag, the ones that bloggers rave about. So I toddled off to try it for myself. First off the colour match is perfect for me, very good job to the artists on the counter.

The foundation has a good coverage, not a lot of concealer is required for me just something to brighten my under eye area - fab for them early mornings.  One thing with this foundation is that its pretty creamy, it takes slightly longer to blend and get a smooth finish when using a brush. I find this is best blended with a brush then just to totally smooth it over use a beauty blender or fingers. Also with it being creamy, make sure its set well so it doesn't move around through the day. A plus side, it's very hydrating and gives a natural glowy finish. It is long lasting and a go too for me.

The Dolce Vita Luxury Palette

This is the newest instalment to my collection and I dare say my favourite.

This palette contains 4 colours, all compliment each other. The Dolce Vita shades are 'Prime' which is a shimmer champagne nude, 'Enhance' a shimmer burgundy(brown undertone), 'Pop' a mega shimmery mid brown and lastly 'Smoke' a darker brown shade.
My two favourites are currently Pop and Enhance. I wear these two together for a smokey eye look. All shades are very easy to blend with good pigment. The easiest thing with these shades are they can be worn casual or built up for a heavier makeup look. This is a very versatile palette.

Lipsticks

I currently have 2 lipsticks from Charlotte Tilburys range. Both different shades and finishes.
Firstly I have the shade 'Glastonbury', a really popular shade! This is a deep purpley burgundy with a matte finish. I love dark lips and burgundy is my go to colour!  This is a long lasting matte finish. It is food and drink proof and doesn't need topping up every 10 mins. Only down side I find it slightly drying from time to time, lip balm at the ready!
And my second shade is 'Sexy Sienna'. This is the other end of the spectrum for me, this is a pink nude. A more of an every day work ear shade for me, it gives a nice flush of colour without being over powering. It has a cream finish but isn't as long lasting as the matte, being totally honest I like that better with lighter every day shades. It is very hydrating for my lips and I loved it throughout the winter, pale skin with shiny pink lips and a flush of blush is a fave of mine!

Scent of a Dream

By far the best smelling perfume on the market! Its a shame I'm so ridiculously bad at describing smells! This perfume has an expensive and vintage edge to the scent, its also said to smell slightly different on each person, how fab? Rather than a best spray the perfume sprays more like a mist meaning one spray is enough. It is strong so a small amount goes a long with.

It has gorgeous packaging, perfect for a dressing table.

And thats just about it for my little Charlotte Tilbury corner. I love the brand, if you haven't already tried it you really need to. All products are available here.

Bleach London Haul/Going Rose

I have said many times before, I love Bleach London. They're the main reason I decided to go blonde! I kind of feel confident enough with my blonde hair now to experiment with different colours, hello Super Cools!

So off I went to Boots to impulse buy then apply. I thought I'd start small and not be overly adventurous and go for the Rose shade. I've had pink hair before, although this was done at a salon but hey ho.

Before I applied the pink my hair needed toning desperately. For some reason my roots have went yellow which does not look good with silver hair..or at all! To sort it out I went for my trusty Bleach White Toner. I've went on about this for a while now, I love it. I kind of use it monthly; with my hair being bleached it sorts out the in between hair appointment jobs, bit of a refresh and get rid of the yellows.
Hair before

The toner is super easy to use. I apply it all myself and it's been a success every time yet. So in the box you'll receive an instruction leaflet, plastic gloves, a colourant, a developer and a conditioner. All you do all the colourant into the developer and shake well, then you're pretty much good to go. I started out covering all of the roots focusing on the front and parting line. The developing time it 10-20 minutes. After around 7-10 minutes I applied the to the rest of my hair. This is just down to my whole hair not needing to be toned as much as the yellow roots.

After the 20 minutes was up I just rinsed it all off and gave my hair a wash using the Aussie Mega shampoo. Normally after this I would put a conditioning mask onto hair but with me going pink I opted not to.

I towel dried my hair and tangle teased it all through. I then got some clean plastic gloves and went in with the Super Cool Rose. I tried to apply this as evenly as possible but it spreads super easily. Its like applying a thick conditioner to your hair. Be careful to where you get this product though, although its only a semi permanent colour it has some staying power if you get it on your white wood panel wall...

So I left it on for the full 15 minutes the rinsed only with water. I did follow the instructions of 'do not shampoo' but I did apply a conditioning mask. I used the Bleach London mask mixed with a one by Label M that I always use!

Over all I'm really impressed with the Bleach London Super Cool Colour! It turned out to be really easy to apply, rinse and it hasn't killed my hair! Due to the amount of different dyes that have previously been on my hair any colour over does tend to go uneven, but that isn't a fault of the product but just old built up dye!
My hair doesn't feel damaged and still looks healthy.  Really recommend for a quick and easy hair change! Only £5 too!

Summer Faves

Hello hello. It's been a long while since I've posted on here and I've now decided to come out of the dark. There was a sigh of relief when taking product photos after months, kind of the taking your bra off after a long day feeling. I think it's about time I get my blogging hat back on and kind of try again. There's a few different reasons to why I stopped but think it's about time I actually started again.

So I thought I'd kind of start simple with a faves post. So this is a kind of a summer faves/what I'm using at the moment.

Hair Care

Bleach London White Toner
I really love the Bleach London range and going to the salon would be a dream! They're the reason I started to bleach my hair. I do go to a hairdressers to get mine bleached but I use this around half way between appointments. This is really simple and easy to mix, apply and rinse which is sometimes a struggle when you're a one man band. My hair gets a good refresh and my colour kept strong, it's only around £6 at Boots and I only need it around once per month. Really great product for the blondies, check out the Bleach London range at Boots if you haven't already!

Toni & Guy Flexible Hold Hairspray
If you're like me and live by the beachy hair code this should be on your essentials list. This adds texture without weighing your hair down or making it all crispy. This is also great to add waves back in after you've brushed your hair, perfect for them early mornings!

Got2b Styling Primer
And yet again, getting them waves in. I use this when my hair is damp. It give my hair a lot more hold before styling. Since my hair is damaged I tend to use a lot of conditioning products which does make my hair soft and harder to style. I use a 50p sized amount and run it through my hair with my fingers then I'm pretty much good to go.

Toni & Guy Damage Repair Intensive Conditioner
I've used this every time I've washed my hair for months now. It has now became an essential for me. If you have any damage to your hair or if you just like to keep the condition up this is deffo a one to try. I swear by it. This helps keep the split ends to a minimum, repair the bleach damage and keep the shine.

Noughty To The Rescue Shampoo
I've only recently started using this and a big thanks to KMI Brands for sending it to me! This is 97% natural and helps to restore your hair. I'm a massive fan of the double wash so first I use a really small amount just on the roots to remove oil and dirt, rinse and then use about a 50p sized amount and put the product all the way through. This really gives your hair a good cleanse and really does remove all the dirt but isn't harsh on the hair.

Perfume

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess
Everyone and everyone's Mam has Bronze Goddess, including me! I've started to wear this everyday whereas before it was kind of every once in awhile. Perfect summer scent, I think everyone has heard of this one and please always know what I'm wearing. It isn't too pricey and is great for a light every day smell.

Marc Jacobs Decadence
This is a new one for me. I got this as a little treat end of trip airport purchase. Now this one is my every once in awhile special perfume. I'm not massively into perfumes like I know a lot of people are so this was a bit of a plunge for me. This is a very unique smell and a gorgeous bottle! This smell is stronger so you only a small amount is needed.

Skin Care

The Body Shop Camomile Cleanser
The Camomile cleanser has been a solid fave of mine for a long time now. It's so easy to remove makeup without the irritating scrubbing. Its really easy on the skin, it gives your skin a gentle cleanse but still removes makeup and dirt. It washes easily and doesn't sit on the skin afterwards and most importantly doesn't cause my skin to break out.

Clinique Moisture Surge
Yes its a small little box. I was given this sample when I made a purchase in Douglas in Amsterdam. I've used it until every bit was used and I have a full size one on order. This is a great pick me up for skin. Whenever its my skin is looking a little dull or dry I apply this and it moisturises and refreshes.

Makeup

The Body Shop InstaBlur
An oldie but goody. This was my every day for ages but I kind of tried other things but now I've went back and I'm confused to why I ever stopped using this.  The only primer that actually does blur out pores and imperfections, it smoothes out skin and leaves it looking soft without applying any makeup. When applying makeup over you can feel it sticking, which is something i do personally like, I have when it feels like it just mixes in together rather than on top of. It keeps makeup on pretty much all day(unless you're pulling an all nighter). It doesn't gather in places and keeps foundation smooth.

Anastasia Beverly Hill Powder Contour Kit
I got this whilst visiting Amsterdam and I now use it every single day. I love the shade banana, before this I always stuck by the transparent mattifying powder whereas this one is a yellow shade. The yellow shade really brightens and warms up my skin. It sets my makeup and mattifies it without it looking dull and flat. I also use all of the bronze shades, I don't really have a fave I just kind of mix the three. They're my everyday contour look/

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette
I've had this palette for a while now and the reason that it's in my faves now is that I wear 2 shades from this palette every weekday for work. I use the shade 'Zone' and 'Black Out'. These are both matte shades and together create a subtle everyday smokey eye. Like all Urban Decay shadows, the colour is strong and really long lasting!

Topshop Cream Blush
This summer I've really tried to keep away from a totally matte base and go more glowy. I've found that a cream blush is really good for that. I love the Topshop Cream Blush in the shade Head Over Heels. It brings a bit more life into your face without being overpowering and overly shiny. I apply with my fingers then blend out with a fluffy brush, really simple and takes no time!

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
I've had this brush forever and ever so it sort of found its way to the back of the pot. I started using it again and loving it again. No other brush that I have can blend foundation as easily as this one. Its super soft and an essential in my brush collection.

Mac Upward Lash Mascara
The thing I really like about this is the short applicator, it allows me to build up length and volume in just the areas I need rather than all over.

And that is it for now. I've finally came back from the blogging dead.
Thank you very much for reading!

May Favourites

Hair Care

Bleach London Live Forever Shampoo- This is the only shampoo that I've used this month and my hair has been such an even clean colour. If you colour your hair this is a really good shout. My hair dresser recommended that I stop using silver shampoos and stuff on my hair so this is my alternative. It keeps my colour looking bright blonde and looking healthy.
Bleach London Reincarnation Mask- When I first used this mask and had dark hair I really didn't rate it, but now that I'm blonde the perks have came to light. Its makes my hair look and feel healthy, brings the colour out a bit more in the process too.
Andrew Barton Blonde Leave in Conditioner- This is a spray conditioner, I use this when my hair is damp but also when it dry and is looking pretty erm dry. Its great if you style your hair a lot a keep the washing minimal, I see all you bleachys. It just refreshes your hair and stops it looks so dry and damaged.

Makeup

Benefit The Porefessional Powder- I bought this right at the beginning of May, on pay day obviously! I ran out of my Nars loose powder but I wasn't near a Nars retailers so I tried Benefit. The packaging has been engineered by a genious. So, you tip the loose powder into the lid and on the bottom a brush is stored, great for in your bag or travelling, you'll never be without a brush! I use this every single day, really good coverage and mattifying, lasts pretty much all day and sets my makeup well.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara-For ages I didn't want to buy this, purely because EVERYONE uses it. But I can totally see why, its by far the best mascara I've ever used. Maybelline are great for mascaras and they're high street prices too! Normally when I buy new mascara it takes a few weeks to kind of break it in but there was none of that, was straight into action. I wear 2 coats of this on my top lashes and they're good to go for the whole day, there's a really good length for my short lashes, it doesn't flake or go all clumpy.
Delilah Time Frame Foundation-This has snuck back into being my everyday foundation. I wear this pretty much every day for work. There's just enough of a creamy texture to give you a glow without your makeup moving around or making you look like a sweat box. The colour(Buttermilk) is just enough warmth for my cool skin tone and the coverage is medium but long lasting. Really quick and easy to blend, perfect for work mornings!

Body

Lush Pearl Massage Bar- The Lush massage bars aways really confused me so I just never bought one. I finally got one to try and I love it so I've re-purchased. I use this when I've just gotten out of the bath or shower so I'm warm and just rub the bar over skin and the only way I can describe it is like a oil bar. Your skin feels amaze after, this one smells good too.

Thanks for reading, I cant believe its June already tho

What I've Learnt From Bleaching My Hair

If you follow me on any of my social medai you might have noticed over the past few months that I've went from a dark brown to a bleachy blonde... The good the bad and the ugly of bleaching..

It Takes Time
Rome was never built in a day and neither is blonde hair! It took me 4 months and at least 24 hours in total to get an even, clean blonde. After years of box dyes and hair experiments my hair was very patchy with a lot of build up, which I had no clue about and it just takes time and peroxide to fix it. Don't expect to go from dark to silver really quickly and still have healthy hair afterwards.

Less is More
My goalz hair colour has always been the Lou Teasdale white/grey. So I did my research into silver shampoos and white home toners. Honestly, I so regret using any silver shampoo. They are great for colour but I just find they caused so much unwanted build up in my hair and didn't exactly make my hair look healthy!  Less is definitely more with silver shampoo, if my colour is looking really dull then I might use it as a one off just to give it a bit of a kick.
Any styling products kind of show up more with blonde hair(in my opinion). Any hair sprays or texture sprays often show more.

Cool it with the Heat
I always kind of thought that heat did not massively affect my hair, then I bleached it. WIth lighter hair any damage is a lot more visible.Small things can really help, simple things like using the curlers on a medium to low heat rather than full blast and only straightening the parts of my hair that actually need it. Salt spray and plats is cool for hair and no heat it involved!

 Conditioner
The all mighty saviour. Intensive conditioners are your new best friend. Do not wash your hair with a good hand full of conditioner in the mix. Andrew Barton and Bleach London ones are my favs.

Its Itchy as Fuck
Self explanatory. You'll be in the hairdressers for hours wanting to remove your scalp. And then its also its for the next few days. Fun times.

Leave it to the Pros
Yes box dyes are the cheap and often disastrous option. Its your hair, that's on your head, where everyone can see. Serious talk, don't risk your hair falling off or getting extremely damaged. Even if you speak to a hair professional about what box dyes etc. would be best to use or just get advise first. Its a lot harder to dye damaged hair. Your hairdresser can advise on shampoos and products that would be best for your hair. I get my hair done at a Toni and Guy Salon which is a lil pricey but I wouldn't go any where else, they've never made any fault and I'm always leaving happy. If you wear hair extensions, dont try and buy some online without seeing it in person. Blonde hair is so  much harder to match in comparison with dark hair, go to a salon and get properly matched before spending any money.

Why I haven't been posting | What I've been up to

Over the past few months I've barely posted anything on my blog so I think it's time to get back posting! I felt like a lot has happened over the last few months too.

If you read one of my previous post you would have seen that I visited Amsterdam, which was really cool and I'm due to be going back in August. Amazing city, if you get the chance you should defs go, it's so pretty!!

I got offered the opportunity to be in London for a weekend  with Scott Cornwall/KMI Brands to film a hair tutorial video using the Scott Cornwall Colour Restore. I'm so grateful for the opportunity thank you to Scott Cornwall and to Alexis for the lovely day!  I will post the video onto my blog as soon as I can too.

I have been a bridesmaid for my cousin's Wedding which was a lovely day start to finish and probably one of the highlights of the year!

And I also passed my driving theory test first time, despite everyone thinking I would fail and doing little to no revise I still passed first time. Sticking on the whole studying subject, I've finally nearly finished my apprenticeship qualifications and will soon have 2 Level 3s that I've had a lot of stress getting!

Soap and Glory | Shebang

Around about this time last year I posted about the Soap and Glory huge Christmas box, reviewing products and sharing first impressions. Since lastyears was when I just started with the whole blog thing my pictures were crappy and who doesn't love a little tradition? I thought I'd share my thoughts on the 2015 'The Whole Shebang' box.
Yes this was from Soap and Glorys Christmas christmas collection but all products are sold separately. There are a few things that aren't apart of the Shebang but I thought I'd just add it in too.

 Sugar Crush
So, in the Shebang there was the small Sugar Crush body wash and one body butter, the full size body wash was bought separately. The Sugar Crush is by far my favourite line by Soap and Glory, its sweet and zesty I love using it morning or night. The body butter sink in quickly and the scent is there but nothing overpowering. They're my favourite Soap and Glory products.

The Righteous Butter
Last year, the Righteous butter was also in this and then I didn't really like it. To be honest, this is a product that stays in my drawer for when I run out of other moisturizers. One thing that I did like about this the more that I used it, the smell doesn't linger at all and its a lot more moisturizing in comparison to say the Sugar Crush. I wouldn't intentional go into Boots to buy this, it isn't an essential or favourite for me but I will use it.
The Righteous Sunkissed Tint Body Lotion on the other hand is a total favourite of mine already. I used this all over the festive period and it's such a perfect product! Basically this is a tinted moisturiser, its an instant tan but your skin still gets the goodness and moisture it would from using Righteous. Again, there is no smell left behind, which is something I hate about a lot of fake tans! I really like how this goes on and comes off effortlessly, when first applied it does look a little bit orange but it does calm into a natural looking shade for my skin tone anyway. I didn't know that Soap and Glory had a fake tan, would repurchase this product!

 Hand Food and Heel Genius
These products have been featured in the Christmas box since I've been buying it. Both products seem to last me pretty much all year, I don't often use hand and foot creams when I probably should. These products are both good for purpose nevertheless, they're both moisturizing and refreshing with neutral smells that aren't over powering.

Peaches and Clean
I've used this facial cleanser before. This is the type of product that I would use as a more face wash, I wouldnt remove my make with this because I don't feel like it would cleanse strongly/deeply. Its light, cleans but not fully cleanses and smells good. It's not that I dislike it, it just its my first choice in cleansers! But won't be going to waste!

The Scrub of Life
An exfoliating body scrub, which I thought was a facial one at first lol. It does the job of exfoliating and smells good. Does what it says on the tin!

Clean on Me
A moisturizing shower gel. I get excited when I see products that kind of multitask like that, kind of shower gel kind of moisturizer. I love using products like this, in the winter skin gets drier so little ways to add moisture back into the skin will always be a plus! The smell of this is pretty much neutral and would appeal to most people.

The Daily Smooth
This was sold separately from the Shebang. So, this is a body butter that has a pretty soft smell, it has cocoa butter in and its really moisturizing and is a good treat for you skin. Again, like the Righteous it doesn't have a lingering smell that's over powering.

Thick and Fast
I've had the Thick and Fast a few times now from these sets but in honest it is pretty much just a stop gap mascara when I run out of my Benefit one, or it I want more product. It has never been an essential for me.

And that's it for this one! This post was mixed reviews but I'd rather be honest about what I do and don't like to be honest.

YSL Ink Fusion Foundation Review

I bought the YSL Ink Fusion Foundation not too long before Christmas and it was featured in this haul. So I've been using this foundation for around 3 weeks now. I feel like I can give this a fair review now I've used it during my time off for Christmas where I had loads of time to apply it, parties where I needed it to last and for work where I had little time to apply with less product needed.

So, before applying this I make sure I have clean and moisturized skin, then I apply the Benefit Porefessional and the Body Shop Instablur primer. I then start off by using the stick applicator to get the product onto my face, At first I was really confused with the stick thing but it actually really useful for getting the product onto your face without having to pour it onto the back of your hand.  So when I apply it the texture is kind of ink like, it feels thick and silky at first. I then blend it using a damp Real Techniques Beauty Blender. Its super easy to blend in, it takes little effort and time using a beauty blender. After this, depending on the occasion or what my skin is like that day I will then decide if I need any product, if so I will just repeat the process.
The coverage on this foundation is medium to me but buildable. It can be made dewy depending on how much setting powder you use too.
This foundation lasts me pretty much all day, at least 12 hours. Which is perfect for me when at work, its quickly became my everyday favourite foundation.

I bought this from Boots for £31.50 in Shade BD10.
