London Highlights (and lowlights)

Straight after my birthday my Mam and I had a trip to London planned. We had this planned since Christmas. I bought my Mam tickets to see Adele live at Wembley Stadium, yes, the show was cancelled and we are still proper gutted. My Mam cried when she got the tickets on Christmas morning and cried on the show morning- obviously for the wrong reasons.

Never the less we still had a fab weekend, probably the best time I've had in London. Heres a few pics because I'm a photography geek obvs

Day one - South Kensington and Burger & Lobster

Day 2 - Adele Cancelled - Tattoos, Pints and shopping instead

I kind of want to share the story about this pointless little heart tattoo. So my Mam was SO worried about travelling to London, I'm pretty chill in these situations but she is the complete opposite. When we got there she realise how unadventurous she has always been and wished she could go out and see more. On an impulse, we made an adventurous decision to just walk in and get a tattoo, something I never thought she'd do! Its a little mark of remembrance to dive into things, also I think its cute as matching with my Mam.

Day 3 - Tourist overload

We saw the sights and I walked around with my DSLR around my neck, proper tourist mode.

London I will love you always x

My Guide to London

London, my happy place. I've only visited a hand full of times but its the place that I love and the place that I'd love to live. Its always been a massive dream of mine to just move out there, I sit on Right Move looking at flats there so much its becoming a bit embarrassing.

Here's my recommendations from my few visits...

Accommodation

For me, a very important player. Every time I have visited London I have stayed in the same hotel, the Tavistock in Russel Square. It was a family recommendation, they always stayed when they used to work in London. For me its in an ideal location. Its very close to Kings Cross and Central London. When you're not familiar with a City its always best to be close to the areas that you'll be visiting and close to things like shops, parks etc. Around the corner from the hotel is a tube station and opposite that is cafes and a super market- a Prett and Tesco to be exact. Winner for me,  a nice coffee on a morning at a normal price then some hotel room snacks on a night. Not far from the hotel is a small shopping centre with restaurants, really useful if you don't wish to go into the hustle and bustle of Central London but still would like a nice meal to finish the day. A shopping centre is handy to, there is a Boots or SuperDrug there(can't remember which) they're always handy to have close, for when you forget your toothbrush!

The Tavistock hotel its self is very reasonably priced and is a nice stay. Its a basic hotel room, nothing too fancy but its always been clean and accommodating for me. It has everything you need for a place to put your head down. The staff are helpful and very polite. Each time I have visited breakfast has been included in the stay. It is a help your self style and after I was set up for the day. Its a pleasent hotel in a fabulous location at a low cost. I due to be staying here again this summer and I'm looking forward to it!

Things to do

This probably isn't the best thing for me to write about, when I go to London I have one thing on my agenda...shopping. My favourite thing about London will always be the way I can aimless wander for hours and miles and just find new sights and new places where I have never been to before. Its a massive concrete jungle and you can just walk to see what you find, had enough of walking? Jump on a tube and off you go.

Something I have done is some museums, geeks at the ready. The Natural History is a stand out for me, who doesn't look a good dinosaur??

Walk and walk, honest I never plan things when I go. I just walk and see what I find, wander freely and enjoy it, soak London in!

Eating and Drinking

London like all cities are hot spots for food and drink places. For me I'm really bad for sticking to what I know - this often saves money. Some places in London are over prices just because they're in London. Want coffee, stick to the mainstreams and it might save you some pennies- more shopping money.

One food places that I have been to that was amaaazing was Burger and Lobster and I reviews it here

What to wear

Go with it, wear what ever you want. Keep in mind, comfort! Trainers are a winner for me, like I said all I do is walk! London is a huge place and you will walk a lot, wear something sensible or it will be a killer for you!

Go to London and get inspired, enjoy!

Trip to London

So my boyfriend and I decided after getting back from Amsterdam in August that we kind of needed another little break away, hello London. We booked up and off we went. Whenever we go anywhere we never really have a lot planned and we kind of just see what we can find. I've been to London 3 times previously and it's my most favourite place in the work, living there is life goals. Previously I've kind of just stuck to Oxford Street and Soho-ish. This time we kind of ventured out and saw some new things. This is the first time I've ever seen Big Ben properly?? How weird.

We also conveniently visited London on the weekend of London Fashion Week, which was actually a total accident! After seeing people who were there for fashion week I felt so inspired. I'm a full on fashion fail to be honest and its really opened my eyes to styling and being a bit more stylish, about time to be honest!! I was even so sad to make a list of different clothing I saw and liked on all the fashiony people. One day I would love to be in London for Fashion Week and not just admiring from a distance!

Why I haven't been posting | What I've been up to

Over the past few months I've barely posted anything on my blog so I think it's time to get back posting! I felt like a lot has happened over the last few months too.

If you read one of my previous post you would have seen that I visited Amsterdam, which was really cool and I'm due to be going back in August. Amazing city, if you get the chance you should defs go, it's so pretty!!

I got offered the opportunity to be in London for a weekend  with Scott Cornwall/KMI Brands to film a hair tutorial video using the Scott Cornwall Colour Restore. I'm so grateful for the opportunity thank you to Scott Cornwall and to Alexis for the lovely day!  I will post the video onto my blog as soon as I can too.

I have been a bridesmaid for my cousin's Wedding which was a lovely day start to finish and probably one of the highlights of the year!

And I also passed my driving theory test first time, despite everyone thinking I would fail and doing little to no revise I still passed first time. Sticking on the whole studying subject, I've finally nearly finished my apprenticeship qualifications and will soon have 2 Level 3s that I've had a lot of stress getting!
